I clicked on the link for the Somerset Bay cabinet above because I couldn’t believe a company could honestly charge over $5K for a cabinet that is 3′ x 3′. And I was glad to find that the price listed above is incorrect. It is only $2,460. In that case maybe I should get 2. Maybe not seeing how I would have to wait 4 months to receive it due to its custom paint job. The website states that the cabinet is made from “renewable plantation-grown mahogany”. First of all, what is renewable about the wood? Does it mean that they will be planting new trees to replace the trees they cut down to make this tiny cabinet. Also, is this cabinet U.S. made? Do we still have “plantations” in the U.S.? What does it matter if its mahogany if its painted? The molding isn’t even real bamboo but rather “bamboo style”. At the bottome of the website they suggest customers buy the matching “etagere” (read bookcase) for another $2359. Look at this bookcase closely. It is spindles, shelves, and some trim made of mahogany and VENEERS Whoops, I missed the part about their “6 step finishing process”. That must be where the extra $2000 comes in. I won’t be back to this website until I hit the jackpot.
